Tanya Beckett is an English television and radio journalist who has worked in broadcasting and the media for over twenty years. She started out at the FT, then moved on to CNBC, Sky News, CNN and since 1998, the BBC. Tanya has worked on a variety of programmes on BBC World News, the NewsChannel, Radio 4 and BBC1 and BBC2, including Our World, Working Lunch, Today, World Business Report, Newsnight and World Business Report. Tanya works in live news and documentaries in TV and radio.
She spent three years living in and reporting from New York for the BBC. Prior to becoming a broadcaster, Tanya worked as an investment banker for five years in credit analysis and then debt restructuring. She worked first at Citibank, London, then Commerzbank, Frankfurt. Tanya speaks fluent German and good French. Tanya has a degree from Oxford University in Metallurgy and Materials Science, has three children, plays tennis, runs and renovates old houses.
