COMEDIAN & TV PRESENTER BEST KNOWN AS A FORMER HOST OF 'THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF'

One half of the iconic comedy duo Mel and Sue, Sue Perkins is also an English broadcaster, author and writer best known for her former presenting role on The British Bake Off and Insert Name Here. Whilst studying English at the University of Cambridge, Sue became a member of the Footlights theatrical club where she met Mel Giedroyc. Sue began writing for the BBC sketch show, French & Saunders whilst also making regular appearances on the show before becoming the co-host of Channel 4 daytime show, Light Lunch in 1997.

As the comedy duo gained more popularity, they became the hosts of their own ITV daytime chat show entitled Mel and Sue, and eventually became the faces of a new rendition of The Generation Game for BBC One. Most notably throughout her career, Sue has written material for BBC sitcom, Absolutely Fabulous. She has also appeared on Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week and Room 101 as well as gaining presenting roles on The Supersizers Go…, The Culture Show and Cooks’ Questions.

Recently, Sue has become known for her stint on The Great British Bake Off. She has also gone onto become a regular on the panel of gameshow What the Dickens?, the presenter of Insert Name Here and The Big Spell. She has also made various guest appearances on a variety of radio stations, written her own travel based autobiography entitled East of Croydon: Blunderings Through India and South East Asia and performed many stand-up pieces at the Edinburgh Festival.
