Sue Perkins is a comedian, writer and presenter. Originally one half of comedy duo Mel & Sue, she now presents a vast range of programmes covering everything from brass bands to baking. Starting out as student performers, Mel & Sue took to the live circuit before writing for French & Saunders and then presenting both Light and Late Lunches on Channel 4.
Solo, Sue has appeared on numerous panel shows, on both television and radio from The News Quiz to QI, Just a Minute to Would I Lie To You. In partnership with food critic Giles Coren she’s explored unusual diets through the ages in The Supersizers Eat…, lived The Good Life, and considered the history of royal weddings.
Sue discovered another talent when she won the BBC’s conducting competition, Maestro, going on to lead the orchestra at Proms in the Park. She’s also looked at art, The Sound of Music, and books, but has continued to return to food. As well as Channel 4’s The Big Food Fight, Sue has competed on Masterchef, grilled top chefs in Cooks’ Questions, and most famously reunited with Mel to front the phenomenon that is The Great British Bake Off.
