A much-loved British reverend, radio presenter and speaker, Reverend Richard Coles has established himself as one of the Church of England‘s most unique and likeable leaders. Richard Coles personality is one to be cherished. Revelling in inspiring and motivating listeners, guests and members of his congregations alike, Richard is a a multi-dimensional guest speaker with plenty of stories to tell.

A former member of the hit band The Communards, alongside Jimmy Sommerville, which had three top ten hits, Richard’s experiences are diverse and thoroughly entertaining. The band topped the charts in 1986 with their dance version of Don’t Leave Me This Way, which became the bestselling song of the year.

For some time Richard went solo before stepping into various roles across the media, in television, radio and print publications. Alongside this, he was later ordained in 2005 and took roles as a curator and chaplain before becoming a parish priest in Finedon, Northamptonshire. Along the way, the famous priest served as the inspiration for the BBC Two sitcom, Rev and even took an advisory role on the show.

Alongside his religious commitments, Richard still finds time to participate in several broadcasts and media discussions. He has presented Nightwaves on Radio 3, Newsnight Review on BBC Two, a special edition of Songs of Praise and quiz show, Only Connect for Children In Need. He even used his status as the most high-profile gay priest in the broadcast of four-part radio series, Out in the World: A Global Gay History.

He has hosted the Saturday Live show on radio four on numerous occasions and featured as a panellist on the likes of Have I Got News For You, QI and Would I Lie To You?. In addition, Richard has graced the famous floor of Strictly Come Dancing and appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Masterchef. His CV even boasts top spot on Celebrity Mastermind back in 2014.

His first memoir, Fathomless Riches was released in 2014 and Bringing In The Sheaves followed in 2016.
