Broadcaster and journalist Lyse Doucet is a Canadian born TV presenter and news correspondent whose work on foreign affairs and natural disasters has garnered global acclaim and a number of prestigious awards. Currently working as the BBC‘s Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet has worked as a television and radio presenter for BBC World News television, BBC 1 and the BBC’s World Service radio station.

A vital member of the BBC’s foreign affairs team Lyse Doucet has been working as a television and radio presenter for more than twenty years and has covered some of the world’s biggest events. Frequently deployed to anchor special news coverage from the field Doucet has worked as a TV presenter across the Middle East, including playing a major role in the broadcasters coverage of the Arab Spring, the war in Afghanistan, the plight of Syrian refugee’s and the devastating Pakistani floods.

In her role as a TV presenter and correspondent Lyse Doucet has also interviewed world leaders and politicians as well as the soldiers and civilians on the front line of some of the most tragic global events in recent history.

Lyse Doucet boasts a number of impressive awards, including two Emmy nominations for her work as a global TV presenter. In 2010 she was awarded a Peabody Award for her coverage of the war in Afghanistan and a David Bloom Award for her factual television films.

She has also been awarded the Radio News journalist of the Year at the Sony Radio Academy Awards in the UK, the Silver Sony Award for News Journalist of the Year, International Television Personality of the Year from the Association for International Broadcasting and the News and Factual Award from Women in Film and Television.

Outside her work as a journalist and TV presenter Lyse Doucet is a Council Member of the International Council on Human Rights policy, an honorary patron of Canadian Crossroads International, and a member of Friends of Aschiana UK which supports working street children in Afghanistan.
