Best-known for co-presenting the hit BBC TV show, Masterchef and Celebrity Masterchef, Gregg Wallace is an acclaimed media personality, presenter, writer and businessman.
An expert in the culinary sector, Gregg initially started off his career selling vegetables as a market trader for George Allan’s Greengrocers in Covent Garden in 1989. Gregg managed to grow this enterprise into a highly successful business that built up a turnover of £7.5 million pounds. From this experience, Gregg decided to open up his own restaurant business called Wallace & Co, in 2010. Adding onto his enterprise, in 2012, Gregg opened up Gregg’s Bar & Grill.
As a result of his business success, Gregg was invited to co-present Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4, which was his initial first step into the media industry. From this, Gregg progressed to become the original presenter of Saturday Kitchen in 2002, etching his name into the celebrity culinary community forever.
As a result of his success on the Saturday Kitchen, Gregg was asked to be a co-presenter and judge on the BBC cooking show, MasterChef, with John Torode. He has featured on the popular competition show ever since 2005.
An author of multiple books, Gregg wrote an autobiography called Life on a Plate and the incredibly popular cookbook titled Gregg’s Italian Family Cookbook. Gregg has also written regularly for food magazines Good Food, Now and Olive.
Gregg is one of the most loved TV personalities, and has appeared on a number of television programmes including Turn Back Time: The High Street, Room 101, Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, The Graham Norton Show, Who Do You Think You Are? and the Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice.
