A distinguished historian and TV presenter, Dan Snow is renowned for heading up some of Britain’s most celebrated documentaries. Working on BAFTA award-winning BBC broadcast, Battlefield Britain, as well as Britain’s Lost World, Hunting the Nazi Gold Train, Rome’s Lost Empire, Locomotion: Dan Snow’s History of Railways, Operation Grand Canyon with Dan Snow and other significant history programmes, Snow is without doubt one of the most popular presenters in the UK today.

Covering all corners of British and global history, from colonial powers to great empires, little known facts to horrifying episodes in history, Snow has been able to engage audiences of all ages with his presentation of historical events.

Snow has won numerous awards for his coverage of both historic and live events. He won the 2004 Sony Award for Best Live Coverage of Boat Race Day, the 2009 BAFTA Cymru award for Best Presenter following Hadrian and a Voice of the Listener & Viewer Special Award in 2013. Dan Snow’s History Hit has also been a revelation, winning the iTunes Best of 2016 Award.

On the radio, Snow has presented for BBC Radio 4, broadcasting for shows that include, Art in the Trenches, At War with Wellington and Prince of Wales.

In addition to presenting on television and radio, Snow has penned six books, including Battle Castles: 500 Years of Knights and Siege Warfare, 20th Century Battlefields and Battlefield Britain.

For his services to history, Dan Snow was appointed an MBE in 2019. His ongoing dedication to history programming has earned him rave reviews, and today he is widely recognised as one of the most insightful and captivating history programme presenters on television.

Outside of his work in the media and as an author, Snow is President of the Council for British Archaeology, an Honorary Associate of the National Secular Society and an ambassador for the Electoral Reform Society.

An outspoken, passionate and caring campaigner for electoral reform, as well as an articulate history speaker, capable of inspiring audiences of all ages, Dan Snow has been called upon to speak at events of all kinds.
