Charlie Dimmock

Charlie Dimmock was the face of British gardening in the late 1990s when she rocketed to fame after joining the team on BBC’s popular show, Ground Force. The red-haired Botticelli-esque beauty was spotted by a producer of the show at Romsey Garden Centre where she was working, but it wasn’t until five years later that she was called up to be the water feature expert on the show, starring alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh. The show was an enormous success, quickly moving from BBC2 to BBC1, and making the three presenters household names throughout the UK.

When the show ended, Charlie’s fame certainly did not diminish, as she went on to present other shows such as The Joy of Gardening, Charlie’s Garden Army and parts of The Chelsea Flower Show, as well as earning herself a gardening slot on the American breakfast show, The Early Show on CBS. She has also appeared on the Channel 4 reality show The Games and BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef. Most recently, she has presented Garden Rescue alongside the Rich brothers. Charlie continues to share her gardening expertise with several books as well, including Water Garden Workbook, Container Garden and Enjoy Your Garden. In addition, she wrote a weekly gardening column for the Mail On Sunday.
