British actor David Schneider was born in London and attended the prestigious City of London Boys’ School and followed this with an impressive higher education career at Oxford, since leaving education however Schneider has begun working as a professional actor and club and stand-up comedian.
David’s love for drama and performance began whilst he was still at Oxford and he made his first forays as a stage and comic actor whilst still studying at Oxford where he and a friend devised and performed a largely physical comedy act that brought together David’s dual talents as both an actor and as a brilliant comedian.
David’s comedian career truly took off in the early 1990’s when, after a chance meeting with fellow actor and satirist Armando Iannucci, he was asked to appear in the radio comedy series On the Hour. In the years that followed David worked as both a visual and voice actor, appearing in a number of comic roles for BBC Radio and television. His most memorable on screen appearances have seen him team up with some of Britain’s most well respected comic actors including Steve Coogan in Knowing Me, Knowing You… With Alan Partridge as well as Eddie Izzard and Rowan Atkinson.
As well being a respected comic actor David Schneider has also proved himself to be a talented writer, he has written a number of screenplays, including the 2001 feature film All the Queen’s Men, not to mention a number of television and radio series. He is also a popular panellist on comedy panel series and radio shows and has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s the 99p Challenge.
