Jonathan Broom-Edwards

Leading British Paralympian

Braving a steep learning curve of elite sport, Jonathan has achieved silver medal success at 3 World Championships, 1 European championship and made his Paralympic debut at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games achieving a further silver. Jonathan’s sights are set on Paralympic Gold for Tokyo 2020.

As a motivational speaker, Jonathan’s seminars and keynote motivational speeches focus on dealing with adversity, building mental resilience and focus, as well as developing the ‘what it takes to win’ mentality.

Broom-Edwards was born in 1988 with a condition called Talipes Equinovarus (clubbed foot). He has competed in sport all his life, focussing on the team sport of basketball, but burst into the international field of athletics in 2013, claiming a silver medal at his world championships international debut. In 2014, Jonathan temporarily broke and held the T44 high jump world record and has an unapparelled rivalry with Poland in the high jump field.

Broom-Edwards studied aeronautical engineering at university but subsequently followed a passion of therapy and pain eradication in an attempt to better manage his condition. His experience in a clinical environment has given Jonathan empathy with people as well as experience in dealing with an impairment and building beyond it.

During keynote and after dinner speeches, Jonathan bridges the gap between the principals of business and elite sport. The drive and determination of elite sport and building a business are made relatable in Jonathan’s presentations.

With emphasis on training the mind to deal with differing types of situations, Broom-Edward’s experience will ensure listeners come away from the speech with an enhanced mindset and an idea of what it takes to push beyond limitations and adversity.
