Yorkshire born golfer Danny Willett is an impressive and entertaining golf speaker with an already accomplished career; formerly Amateur World Number 1 Danny continues to play golf professionally but compliments his career with working as an after dinner speaker and making appearances at corporate and charitable golf days.
Born in 1987 Danny Willett embarked on his amateur career in 2006 whilst playing for the American College Jacksonville State, in 2007 Willett took part in the Walker Cup at Royal County Down and whilst with JSU was named both Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year and won the 2007 OVC Championship. As a golf speaker Danny recalls his numerous achievements both in the UK and abroad and regales audiences with tales of the courses he has played, players he has competed against and shots he has made.
In 2007 Danny Willett won the English Amateur Championship and in March of the same year that Willett would turn professional he became the World Number 1 Amateur golfer, his status as an ex-number one has helped to make Danny a much-sought after sports speaker and also enabled him to take part in a number of high profile competitions and golf speaker events.
Upon becoming professional, Willett joined the European Tour and had successful seasons in 2009 and 2010 ranking 58th and 23rd in the respective Order of Merit’s. Willett had his first European Tour win in June 2012 when he took part in the BMW International Open in Cologne where he defeated fellow golf speaker and renowned player Marcus Fraser at the fourth hole of a sudden death playoff. Danny Willett continues to work as both a professional golfer and sports speaker, touring around Europe and the UK appearing at golf days and giving presentations at after dinner speaker events for both private and corporate functions.
