ENGLISH TV SPORTS PRESENTER WHO HAS WORKED FOR VARIOUS BROADCASTING NETWORKS

Richard Keys is one of the most recognisable figures in sports broadcasting. Having headed up Sky Sports’ coverage of football since the dawn of the Premier League era until 2011, he was the presenter of Super Sunday, as well as the Champions League and Monday Night Football.

Keys has gone onto present for UK and world-leading broadcasters including ESPN, Fox Sports, Bein Sports, Al Jazeera, Channel 4, BBC and ITV, as well as radio stations from Piccadilly Radio to Talksport.

An award-winning presenter, Keys won the award for best sports programme at the Sony Academy Awards for his Talksport show with co-presenter Andy Gray. This is one of many awards bestowed upon Keys who has won several awards from various publications as Best Sports Presenter.

Having moved into broadcasting from the sports agency, Hayter’s in 1978, he began a career as a football commentator in Radio City. Soon he was greenlighted to join the TV-am team, and by 1987 was a main presenter on Good Morning Britain.

Wanting to pursue his passion of sports journalism, Keys joined Sky Sports in 1992 and would spend present their flagship football programming for close to two decades.

He would also enjoy a spell at ITV presenting football matches, as well as presenting two Tour de France tournaments for Channel 4. In 2011, he would join boxing promoter, Frank Warren to launch the boxing channel, Boxnation. Today, Keys presents Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup coverage for BeIN Sports from Doha, Qatar, where he also records his Talksport slot alongside Andy Gray.

Throughout his illustrious career in football broadcasting, Keys has been on screen for over 4500 matches, including World Cup, Champions League and FA Cup Finals. He has also carved out a career as an event host, facilitator and football speaker, where he has been called upon to speak at corporate, sporting and charity events throughout the world.
