Rachel Unitt

Rachel Unitt is an English Left-back who has represented top teams in the Women’s Championship and her country. An international football star, Unitt is available for keynote and after dinner speeches, where she entertains audiences with her journey as a successful female athlete.

Prior to her national senior team debut in 2000, Unitt had represented England on sixteen occasions for their under 18s team. Over the course of four year, she achieved 102 caps for the country, played in major competitions and was one of the first seventeen women to be given a central contract by The Football Association. Impressively, Unitt has played for England at three UEFA Women’s Championship, in 2001, 2005 and 2009, as well as representing the team in the 2007 and 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Wearing the captain’s armband for the Euro 2013 qualifier against Croatia, Unitt scored the third goal of the victory and her 100th cap for the country.

A powerful left-back, Rachel Unitt has had a successful club career, in addition to her international success. Starting as a youth for Wolves Women and Everton, she signed a professional contract with Fulham Ladies in 2001. During her time at Fulham Ladies, Unitt achieved a domestic treble, winning three trophies in the 2002-2003 season, a career highlight. After great success with Fulham, Unitt returned to Everton in 2004 and for the next seven years, became a fierce competitor. Another high point for Unitt was winning the 2010 FA Women’s Cup with Everton. Playing for a variety of team between 2001 and 2018, including: New Jersey Wildcats, Notts County and Birmingham City, Unitt is currently playing for London Bees.

Through her career, Unitt has stood out as a talented player and has been given well
earned recognition for it her skills on the pitch. Twice she has been named The Football Association’s International Player of the Year, in 2004 and 2006. For two seasons she won the Women’s Community Sheild, and in 2016 she was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame at the National Football Museum.
