As an English sporting legend and highly regarded football speaker throughout the sporting world, Peter Shilton is one of the best goalkeepers to ever play for England. During his international career, Peter established a record of 125 caps for his country, a feat that has yet to be replicated.
Peter’s experience of peak performance at the highest levels of sport translates well to corporate environments as a sports speaker. Peter communicates vividly the self-discipline and dedication it takes to become the world’s best and possesses an infectious desire for success that he tries to instill into every audience member.
An ambitious Shilton considered moving from Leicester after relegation, but decided to stick with his boyhood team. Time would show that this was a wise decision, as Shilton impressed England manage Alf Ramsay sufficiently to warrant a debut international performance against East Germany, with England winning the game 3-1. A little over six months later, Leicester were promoted back to the First Division of English Football, thanks in part to Shilton’s outstanding performances.
During his playing career, Peter won two back-to-back European Cups with the Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest and was named the PFA Player of the Year for 1977-1978. Shilton earned both an MBE and OBE for his services to football. Shilton’s illustrious career and the dedication needed to perform at this level relates well to corporate audiences, making him a renowned football speaker.
Peter has also been awarded the Order of Merit in 2002 from the PFA and his impact on English Football makes him one of the true greats of English footballing history.
Besides football, Peter has made regular appearances on a whole host of television programmes, including Celebrity Come Dine With Me, Let’s Dance for Sports Relief and the renowned BBC talent show Strictly Come Dancing. Peter’s quick-stepping and waltzing ability confirmed his status as one of the nation’s best loved sports stars.
Creating an exciting new career path as an experienced after dinner speaker and keynote speaker for both corporate and sporting audiences alike, Peter has the ability to give insight into some of football’s most crucial and famous matches while interacting with his audiences with humour and charm.

“Peter was lovely to work with, he was professional and spoke for longer than originally briefed, which was generous of him. He shared lots of funny and interesting anecdotes from his career as a footballer and was happy to answer questions post talk. “What a day! Fantastic! Yesterday was absolutely brilliant, Paul had an amazing time with his idol, and I think I’ll be the best wife ever for some time yet so thanks for making that happen!
Peter was great company. A true gent. He and Paul had lots to talk about, most of which was about goalkeeping techniques and the times & coaches they shared at Southampton (Paul as a Schoolboy signing), not the golf! I hope/think Peter enjoyed it too.
Thanks again for your help in arranging this surprise. Only problem is I’m now not sure how I will top it next year, or any year after that come to think of it…..” – Sarah Tickner
“We were extremely happy with Peter’s involvement in the day and his willingness to engage with customers and take picture/sign autographs.” – Continental

“Peter Shilton did a great job. He didn’t leave anyone out at the football match, taking time to sign autographs for everyone as well as speaking to as many people as possible.
In the evening he took questions from our audience and told stories that had our guests listening to every word. His stories were funny, entertaining enough to keep the crowd silent while he told them, but relevant enough for him to receive a standing ovation when he finished.
Throughout the entire day Peter was no less than the perfect Gentleman and helped us raised over £500 for The Royal British Legion, and today I have received nothing but compliments for him from all the guests that I have spoken to. All in all a great success as he spent so much time interacting with them. Please pass on our thanks to Peter for what was a brilliant day.” – Holiday Sales Manager, Warner Leisure Hotels

I also thank you and Jack for everything you all did to make it as smooth and hassle free for us.” – Bhaswar Goswami, CMG World (India)

“Our day was fab, the sun shone and Peter Shilton was lovely, extremely down to earth and very friendly to everyone. He spent a bit of time on the first tee, teeing off with the golfers, and then moved to the 18th and did the same, so it worked really well. Peter’s after dinner talk was very entertaining and there was a great atmosphere in the room. Peter then stayed on the stage and helped present the prizes, shook hands and posed for photos.” – Christine Cottrell, ESSA UK
“Yesterday went very well. Peter was a joy to work with and did a great job. He was heavily in demand and there was a long queue of delegates wanting his picture and signed balls from him. He took time with everyone. It was also interesting to note that when the delegates were in session, the exhibitors also wanted to talk to him so he was busy most of the morning. Lovely man and it doesn’t get any better than that!” – Martin Wells, Head of Operations at Personal Finance Society
