As a talented striker, Crouch began his youth career at Tottenham Hotspurs, before signing a professional contract for the senior team in 1998. From his time at Tottenham, he was noted as a rising star and went on to play for Queens Park Rangers, Aston Villa and Southampton until 2005. In 2005 Crouch entered the most prolific period of his career when he joined Liverpool FC where he helped the team to win the 2006 FA Cup Final, scored the winning goal in the 2007 FA Community Shield and achieved ‘the perfect hat-trick’ against Arsenal. The longest stretch of his career was spent making 225 appearances for Stoke City from 2011-2019, which also coincided with his 100th Premier League goal.
Making his international debut for England in 2005, Crouch achieved 42 caps for the senior team over five eventful years. Playing in two World Cups (2006 and 2010) as well as the Euro 2008, Crouch became a vital part of the squad over the years. Within one season with the team, he scored ten goals and was the first player to do so, as well as creating his signature ‘robot’ dance when scoring against Hungary in 2006.
