Jesper Blomqvist

Regarded as one of football's greatest players and an expert on the sport, Jesper Blomqvist is a popular football speaker. As a player, he prospered in the position of left-winger, due to his defensive ability to break up attacks. In his public speaking, Jesper reflects upon the skills that made such a prosperous footballing career possible. He is also a playing assistant manager, a role in which he uses his immense knowledge of footballing strategies.

In 1992, Jesper signed for Umeå FC, a Swedish professional football team which had only formed in 1987, five years prior. Whilst with the club, he was a key player behind the clubs promotion to Division 2 Norra Norrland and later Division 1 Norra, in the Autumn term. Following his initial success, Jesper later signed for IFK Göteborg in 1993. Having experienced elite football so early in his career, Jesper is the ideal football motivational speaker. An expert in remaining calm under pressure and raising his standard to meet the competition, he frequently presents to corporate clients and public audiences alike, to share his strategies of success.

Jesper's national career spanned from 1994 to 2002, when he played for Sweden's Under-16, Under-18 and Under-23 teams, including the Sweden National Football Team. As a local player, Jesper made 69 appearances and scored four goals. In 1993, Jesper moved from Umeå to IFK Göteborg, before later playing for Milan, Parma, Manchester United, Everton and Charlton Athletic, ending with Hammarby IF in 2010. As a senior player, Jesper made 227 appearances and scored 32 goals.

At the height of his active playing career, Jesper was on the Swedish National Football Team who won bronze at the FIFA World Cup 1994, hosted by the United States. Upon retiring in 2005, Jesper turned his hand to commentating, working as a football pundit for TV4, a popular Swedish television station.
