A former football manager and professional player, Glenn Hoddle is now a commentator and pundit for ITV and BT Sport. The footballing legend came to the attention of Tottenham Hotspur when Martin Chivers and Ray Evans presented an awards ceremony at a local school cup final. After making his debut as a first-team player, it wasn’t long before he received the PFA Young Player of the Year Award and was scoring in Spur’s winning FA Cup final game against Manchester City. After a 12 year-long period with Tottenham, Hoddle announced that he would be moving to AS Monaco.

Whilst being voted the Best Foreign Player in French football, Glenn was also making an impact on English football as he was called up to play for his debut England game in the Euro 80. He made a total of 53 appearances for the national team and scored a total of eight goals for the Lions before venturing into the management career.

He managed the likes of Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and the English National Team throughout this stage of his career. Some of his managerial highlights include him overseeing the promotion of Swindon Town to the Premier League and winning the Premiership Manager of the Month for August 2002.

He has since set up the Glenn Hoddle Academy in the bid to give a chance to young football players as well as going into punditry. He has worked for high-profile companies including ESPN, ITV Sport and BT Sport offering his opinions on recent football issues and commentating on live football matches. He has commented on the FIFA World Cup for both 2014 and 2018 as well as the Euro 2016.
