Andy Caddick

Former professional cricket, Andy Caddick enjoyed a defining career as a fast bowler for England and Somerset County Cricket Club. With his playing days spanning much of the 90s and early 2000s, Andy is a well-recognised and much-adored sporting figure, who has remained a prominent member of the cricket community since retiring. Named as the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2001, Andy’s impact on the English game is undeniable, and his experience lends itself to after-dinner talks, as he can share insight from some of the most prominent competitions during his time. Boasting an impressive international career, Andy made his first appearance for England’s A team in 1993, his debut match was a One Day International for the Texco Trophy at the iconic Old Trafford. Appearing in ODIs and Test matches for England, the New Zealand born star captured the heart of the nation with his passion for the game. Some of his international highlights include touring Zimbabwe and New Zealand during the 1996/97 season and in 1999 he was made Man of the Match during a Test match against South Africa, a testament to his influence on the side. Andy made more than 550 Test appearances for England during his ten years playing for the team, taking part in his final Test and ODI in early 2003.

A prominent club cricketer for almost two decades, Andy made his breakthrough with Somerset County Cricket Club in the 1992 season, during which he secured his maiden 10 wickets against Kent. Throughout his club career, Andy proved himself an essential member of the Somerset side, bowling more than 13,000 balls in total and supporting them in promotion in the Country Championship. A highlight of Andy’s career was finishing the 2007 season as the leading English wicket-taker, with 75 wickets. He announced his retirement from professional play in 2009.

Since stepping away from the pitch, Andy has been successful in several other ventures, becoming a qualified pilot and popular after-dinner speaker. Sought-after for his stories from first-class cricket, Andy entertains audiences with his impressive career and down to earth nature, making him one of the most highly regarded cricket speakers on the circuit.
