Legendary Ryder Cup captain, Tony Jacklin is set to return to Champions' HQ in July to celebrate the 50th anniversary of 'The Concession'. The famous concession was made ahead of the final shot of the final hole of the 1969 Ryder Cup in what was to become a moment that defined sportsmanship.
With Europe and Britain evenly balanced, it came down to the 18th hole between stalwarts, Tony Jacklin and Jack Nicklaus who were tied with only their putts to hold. Nicklaus made his putt before conceding a short putt to Jacklin to share the trophy. The iconic sporting moment proved the inspiration between the top American golf course of Nicklaus and Jacklin's own design - The Concession.
