After just over three years in charge of the once-popular CNN talk-show, it has been announced that Piers Morgan Live will end its run in March. The former editor of the Daily Mirror took over the job from veteran broadcaster Larry King, who retired in 2011 after 25 years in charge.
The show suffered from declining ratings, while Piers Morgan himself claimed that the American public were tired of hearing a Briton weigh-in on cultural issues in their country. During the course of the show, the 48-year-old has interviewed some of the world’s biggest stars and political figures.
Morgan now claims to be in talks with CNN about future projects with the network that would suit his style of presenting and interviewing. He has enjoyed a successful media career since being sacked from the Daily Mirror in 2004, appearing as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent with Simon Cowell and then going on to star on the American version of the show.
