Olympic hero Louis Smith MBE helped to whip the residents of Birmingham into shape when he took part in a day of sports and health activities.
Organised by Birmingham City University, the event aimed to promote the university’s new range of Sports and Life Sciences degree and post-graduate courses, which will be available from September 2017.
Fresh from his silver medal success in Rio, four-time Olympic medalist Louis challenged shoppers at the city’s Bull Ring to beat his reaction times and pedal power. With top athletes such as Louis relying on the science behind health, fitness and nutrition, he was a perfect partner for the event.
Showcasing the university’s facilities, Louis also took a trip around the university’s Edgbaston campus where a new £41 million state-of-the-art facility is under-development and will be home to the new courses.
A firm favourite with sports fans as well as fans of the ballroom since he was crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion in 2012, Louis is available for a wide range of events, including motivational and after-dinner speaking, call Champions After-Dinner Speakers on 0207 1010 553.
