Prior to Lendl’s appointment, Murray had lost his first four Grand Slam finals, an undesirable achievement equalled only by Lendl himself before he won the French Open in 1984. The Czech-born coach is rated as one of the greatest players of all-time, winning eight Grand Slams during his decorated career.
Murray made history by becoming the first British winner of Wimbledon for 77 years and received last year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year award for his achievements. He will take some time before deciding what to do next to ensure he makes the best move for his career.
Murray said: "I'm eternally grateful to Ivan for all his hard work. We've learned a lot as a team and it will be of benefit in the future."
