The climax of the Six Nations is set to be one of the most exciting finishes to the Six Nations for years, as England, Ireland and France both have the possibility of winning the title.
In order for England to win the Six Nations they must either:
· Win against Italy with France beating Ireland without France making up the 29 point deficit they currently possess.
· Win against Italy with Ireland beating France, however England would then have to win by 51 points in order for them to overcome their point deficit.
England have averaged a margin of victory of 27 points in the last 19 games against Italy, however in the last three encounters, the victory has been settled by less than five points.
England have given England ‘Super Sub’ Manu Tuilagi licence to roam in Italy, with the team going for broke in order to overcome their points difference. Manu’s appearance marks his England return back from injury, stating:
“I can’t wait to pull on the shirt again. You see people come back and wonder why they’re charging around in training, so excited. And then I’m like that.”
Hopefully England can pull off what would be a miraculous performance and win the Six Nations, something they have not achieved since 2011.
