Donington Park Chosen as World Base of Formula E Motorsport Series

The exciting new electric global motorsport series, Formula E has chosen Donington Park Circuit in Leicestershire as it’s new global operational base. The new 44,000 ft² bespoke premises will house all ten race teams along with offices, workshops and stores.

At a cost of £5.7 million, the new centre will create 150 jobs and kickstart growth for Donington Circuit as a centre for electrical technologies after losing out to the British Formula 1 contract in late 2009.

Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E is pleased with their choice;

“Our new facilities at Donington Park provide the perfect central location for operating the FIA Formula E Championship. It means we can take advantage of the technology and skills all around us.”
