Carl Froch and George Groves Set to Fight Again

Carl Froch and George Groves are set to fight again on May 31st in a much-anticipated rematch. The first fight between the two last November ended in mass controversy, with a ninth round stoppage that many believed to be premature, especially after Groves’ form earlier in the fight, leading the scoring board for a number of rounds.

Froch has speculated that Nottingham’s City Ground will be venue in late May, fulfilling a dream of Froch’s to fight in front of a home crowd in a very large venue.  Promoter Eddie Hearn has also mentioned that the fight will most likely take place in a major football ground, although exact locations have not yet been confirmed.

The fight will most likely be the biggest grossing event in British boxing history, with tens of thousands of tickets sales and millions of pay-per-view watchers.

Speculation over the City Ground hosting the fight of the year has been put in further doubt after Groves tweeted;

“Before you all book your trains to Nottingham because the Sheriff has tweeted.. I very much doubt King John would send us all there! #Hoax”

Either way, the fight between these two boxing stars is sure to have the fierce rivalry and savage boxing action of their first encounter.
