Two of Strictly Come Dancing‘s best known stars, James and Ola Jordan have wowed the watching world in the ballroom of Britain’s premier dance contest for a decade.
Ola moved from her native Poland after winning Poland’s Open Championship in 1999. She moved to the UK to join up with James Jordan. The duo would first compete in the 2000 Dutch Open before turning professional in 2003. By 2006 they had finished runner-up in the Blackpool Professional Rising Stars Latin event which brought the attention of producers of Strictly Come Dancing.
They each took to the Strictly stage in 2006, with Ola partnering DJ Spoony in the fourth series. James partnered with Georgina Bouzova and finished 10th in the contest. They would both go on to appear before James left ahead of the twelfth series of the show in 2013 and Ola followed suit ahead of the fourteenth in 2015. In their time on the show, James managed a second place finish alongside Denise Van Outen, while Ola’s crowning moment came in series seven when she won the show alongside journalist and presenter, Chris Hollins.
Together, the couple have performed together across the UK and Europe and due to their popularity even appeared together for Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief in 2017. There they put on a memorable show, dancing to Meghan Trainor’s hit song, All About That Bass. The performance left the show’s judges, Rob Brydon, Claudia Winkleman and star of Citizen Khan, Adil Ray in stitches, alongside the audiences.
Both Ola and James have proven themselves as some of the most gifted dance coaches in the UK today. Coupled with their charismatic, lively performances and sense of humour, they have become among the most treasured media personalities of today.
They have performed together on Celebrity Coach Trip, All Star Mr & Mrs, Bargain Hunt for Children in Need and Through the Keyhole, in addition to solo appearances on the likes of The Jump and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (Ola) and Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing On Ice (Jordan) – the latter of which he won in 2019 alongside Alexandra Schauman.
