Jo Brand

BAFTA Winning Comedienne

BAFTA winning comedian, actress and writer, Jo Brand is one of the nation’s most recognisable faces and television personalities. Jo left her everyday job as a psychiatric nurse in 1987 to pursue her dream career as a stand up comic and TV comedian. Jo found success in shows such as Through the Cakehole and All The Way to Worcester, before appearing on hit shows such as Question Time, The Graham Norton Show and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

Jo’s initial style of delivery involved her giving her lines in a monotonous and short rhythm, taking inspiration from the pop culture of the time and including many jokes about celebrities and public figures of the time. Wearing her trademark Doc Marten boots, Jo became an influential comedian in the 1980s and 1990s with her fame continuing to the present day.

Ideal for private functions and events, Jo’s warm and approachable style of speaking engages audiences and makes her an ideal event host or conference facilitator for any environment looking to add a little spice to proceedings. Jo’s hilariously honest look on life makes her a favourite amongst guests and listeners.

Appearing over 30 times on shows such as Have I Got News for You and QI, Jo enjoys a mental challenge as much as a good laugh, proven by lifelong ambition to appear on Countdown, something she achieved and repeated frequently. Perfect for television appearances and presenting, Jo has proven her ability to lead television shows in features such as Jo Brand’s Big Splash and Getting On, a show co-written by Jo herself. Aside from always making people laugh, Jo is a consummate professional that will work and tailor her services to a client’s brief.
