Ian Royce started his career in stand-up comedy over 27 years ago and today he is without question, one of the most exciting unscripted improv comedians in the country. With a talent to just go with with whatever is in front of him without a long script of gags makes Roycey so unique and so in demand.
The last few years have been a very exciting time for Roycey. He has been on The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories since day one, not just as The Warm Up Man but as the act that keeps the show alive during many breaks and set changes; he has carved a reputation as being the country’s leading comedy warm up man for which he is very proud of. His YouTube Vlogs and #RoyceyAnyTimeChallenges are a must watch when he is not warming up the biggest shows on British television as they are varied and normally spur of the moment.
His comedy has been judged by the very audiences that laugh hysterically at his antics with a following on Twitter which now exceeds 70k with most British stars (and some American one too) addicted to his antics and life.
Ian has also supported One Direction in both New York and London holding together the 1D fan day and the world wide press launch of their South American Stadium tour.
Ian has also been privileged to support both Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams and has had the joy of entertaining thousands in the country’s biggest arenas, including The O2, Wembley Arena, The Manchester MEN, The Royal Albert Hall and many other major venues around the country, Ian also appeared on the Royal Variety a few years ago, he didn’t make the TV show but was hailed by everyone in the audience to have stolen the show, a letter hangs with pride from HRH Prince Charles saying the same thing
2014 saw Roycey find a new lease of life. He has turned many a corner and climbed many a mountain and his new found hunger, desire and vigor to stand in front of camera rather than behind it has been noticed by many. He now is regularly seen on popular shows including ITV‘s This Morning and has a regular spot reviewing the daily newspapers in his own unique fashion on Sky News Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes.
He has cycled from Edinburgh to London single handedly, jumped out of a plane, lived as a patient of T1D, spent 24 hours in a wheelchair to support ‘Help For Heroes’ running up to The Invictus Games , cycled for 39 hours straight to Paris from London following the shocking events in Paris in early 2015, helped some brave homeless people, shaved his legs and even done a bit of art amongst many other things.
He is to continue to push himself to new limits during 2106 which include a 17k cycle, every day, for different charities and to find new ways to give back to life through his love of doing slightly insane things. Off the back of this Roycey has developed a very popular and very different motivational speech which covers a tough childhood and a career working with the biggest stars in the world. His after dinner speeches cover a life in comedy, some sad days in his past, his life on The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and many of the biggest shows the country has produced.
He is NOT a gag teller just a story teller, although he can write scripts to fit the occasion, company or event. His unique observational humour and ability to find out everything about everyone and use it in comedy, again make Ian utterly unique!
Ian is in the process of writing a book of a life in warm up and the charity challenges he has conquered over the last two years, although with an attention span of a gnat this may take longer than his over active mind tells him! Ian feels very sorry for the person who has to check the spelling!
Corporately Ian is without question the most exciting live performer at any event. He has an ability to write bespoke scripts for company award ceremony’s which he has done for high profile clients such as 02, Virgin, Las Vegas tourist board; the list goes on and on. Over the past few years Ian has raised in excess of a million pounds in charity auctions including The Mo Farah Foundation Ball directly after the London Olympics where he had Usain Bolt as his partner.
Watching Roycey is more of a life experience than an hour laughing – if you don’t believe it, then never ever use your mobile phone or get your handbag out while he has a microphone in his hand!
