Mike Krieger

Mike Krieger is a software engineer and entrepreneur, best known as the Co-Founder of Instagram, the internationally successful social media site. After completing a degree in Symbolic Systems, he went on to achieve a Master's degree in the same subject, strengthening his knowledge in computer science, linguistics, and human-computer interaction. In 2007, Mike was one of twelve students selected to take part in Stanford’s Entrepreneurship Program, allowing him to further develop the skills required for his influential career.

Prior to co-founding Instagram, Mike established himself as an asset to the tech industry, through a number of key roles. Initially challenging himself as an intern, Mike worked for Microsoft as a program manager, improving features in the iconic Microsoft PowerPoint, as well as interning for Foxmarks implementing search engine features. In 2009 he took on the position of User Experience Designer and Engineer at Meebo, prototyping and designing new products. Throughout his career history, Mike developed the necessary skills to pair with his innovative ideas culminating in one of the biggest online platforms created to date. Most recently, in 2021, Mike became the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Artifact. Created in partnership with Kevin Systrom, Artifact is a leading AI-powered news app.
