Daniel Hulme is an internationally recognised authority on AI and emerging technologies. CEO of the award-winning Satalia, he provides AI solutions and products for notable organisations, including PwC and Tesco. He is also the Chief AI Officer at WPP, defining, curating, and promoting AI capability across the organisation and externally to interest groups. Daniel is also an investor in emerging technologies and a preeminent speaker who regularly speaks for Google and TEDx. In his keynotes, he speaks on AI, ethics, innovation, decentralisation, metaverse, and organisational design.
Possessing a robust academic underpinning in AI, Daniel holds a master's in Computer Science with Cognitive Science and an engineering doctorate in Computational Complexity from UCL. During his studies, Daniel ran an Independent ICT Consultancy service for SMEs in London. He then served as a Research Fellow at UCL and became the Kauffman Global Scholar, an entrepreneurship programme for the UK’s best graduate entrepreneurs. In 2009, he joined Cisco as an Innovation and Emerging Technology Contractor, Synecticsworld as an Innovation Catalyst and Hypios as a Collaborator.
He became an Advisor at Patronus in 2012, a company that uses big data to identify patents and applications to target. For three years, he ran 12BT, a leading startup incubator, before becoming an Advisor to the UK Home Office, City AI, and the UAE National AI Strategy. Daniel has also held several distinguished academic roles, including Senior Lecturer at Pearson College, Lecturer at The London School of Economics and Political Science and Director of UCL’s Applied AI MSc. Currently, he is a co-founder of Faculty, Speaker and Educator at Singularity University and Entrepreneur in Residence at UCL.
