Australian business speaker and investor Richard Farleigh is known by many for his previous appearances on the BBC business series Dragon’s Den where he, alongside other notable investors and business management speakers offered financial backing to independent business owners.

Born in Victoria, Australia Richard Farleigh is a member of the Business Review’s Weekly Rich List, a list of the top 200 Richest Australian’s but is currently resident in London, England. Working as a business management speaker and Chancellor of the London South Bank University, Farleigh has invested both his own personal wealth and made business investments in a number of British projects including the innovative IndexIT group and has contributed funding to a variety of research conducted at the prestigious Oxford University.

Farleigh made his first appearance as a business speaker on Dragon’s Den in 2006 during the show’s third season and whilst in this role provided both financial backing and guidance to a number of promising British enterprises. Outside his work as a business management speaker Richard Farleigh is an accomplished chess player and in his appearances at after dinner speaker events frequently likens the patience and endurance required in the game to the skills needed for successful business management.

Providing further advice and guidance to businesses as an after dinner speaker Richard Farleigh has also written several instructive books on business management and successful investment, his first book, Taming the Lion: 100 Secret Strategies for Investing was released in 2005.
