Lauren Riley

Entrepreneur, Qualified Solicitor, the proud founder of The Link App and former participant of The Apprentice

Qualified solicitor and Entrepreneur Lauren Riley, is best recognised for her appearance on BBC’s The Apprentice in 2014. With the aim to give law a ‘face-lift’, Lauren founded The Link App and app that is redefining and improving the relationship between law firms and their clients.

In 2006 Lauren graduated from Lancaster University with an honours degree in Law her main aspiration was to make sure she could make a difference to those in need of support. Lauren specialised in family law which saw her take on cases such as separation, divorce, or property ownership.

With a clear mind for business and her desire to improve the day-to-day problems faced by law firms and their clients Lauren developed The Link App. As a lawyer Lauren was able to design her app truly specific to the needs and requirements of other lawyers. The app provides the ultimate tool for busy law firms looking to thrive in an increasingly competitive market, improve customer service, increase productivity, and save time and money. Acknowledging the huge amount of time and effort solicitors put into keeping all client parties up to speed with case progression Lauren noticed an opportunity to solve this problem through the innovative use of technology. Designed with a user-friendly interface, a lawyer can upload the latest developments and documents on a case to the app and their clients can easily access all the information.

Lauren continues to share her insights and knowledge throughout a range of channels from business speaking to blogging and media appearances. From appearances in the legal media covering topics of innovation and client experience to blogging and creating content for her own site and Huffington Post. Lauren thinks it’s important to represent that women can have a successful career without compromising the things they hold dear.

Lauren embodies the spirit of today’s modern professional woman, proving leadership and glamour can come hand in hand making her an excellent business speaker who can share her tips for success and experience within business. “Lauren spoke at the Junior Lawyers Division of the Law Society’s Annual Conference in April 2015 on ‘Understanding the business world’. Lauren was an excellent and enthusiastic speaker. As a solicitor, businesswoman, and TV personality, the expectations from the audience were high. Lauren clearly exceeded those expectations given the wonderful feedback that we received. From my own perspective, I found Lauren’s talk to be very interesting and engaging from start to finish (to the extent that we even allowed the talk to exceed its allocated time in order to take extra questions from the audience). Lauren was a delight to work with, and we hope to have her back again in the future!” – Max Harris, President of the Junior Division of The Law Society
