Bernard Jenkin


With a varied background working in both corporate business, as a legal advisor and obtaining a degree in English literature from Cambridge University Bernard Jenkin is most well known as a politics speaker and long standing member of the British Conservative Party and as MP for both Colchester North and North Essex. As well as continuing to represent his constituency in Westminster Jenkin works as a politics speaker on behalf of his party as well as on television and radio broadcasts.

Embarking on his political career in 1992 Bernard Jenkin has more than twenty years’ experience with which to inform his work as an after dinner speaker, during his career Jenkin not only spent time representing Essex North and Colchester but also ran for election in Glasgow Central during the 1987 General Election as well as acting as Vice Chairmen for the Conservative Party.

As a politics speaker, Jenkin not only discusses the Conservative Party, their values and his experience as a member but also ruminates on the more than fifteen years he has spent representing North Essex. Alongside his work as a politics speaker, Bernard Jenkin is the Vice President of the UK charity Combat Stress, which offers residential treatment to ex-servicemen and women suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

In his capacity as Vice President, Bernard often holds fundraisers and presents after dinner speaker events in order to raise awareness of the impact of PTSD and stress on those who have taken part in combat.
