A British politician held in high regard by cabinet members and the general public, Amber Rudd has held distinguished roles in government. Serving as the Home Secretary between 2016-2018 and as the Secretary for Work & Pensions between 2018-2019, as well as the MP for Hastings and Rye since 2010 and the Minister for Women and Equalities in 2019, she has built a reputation as a firm and forward thinking MP.
Having earlier served as the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Rudd was at the centre of the battle for better renewable resources and climate change mitigation. In 2016, she was the politician who had enjoyed the fastest rise to a position in the Great Office of State since WW2, becoming only the third female Home Secretary in history. After filling top-level governmental positions, Rudd resigned on 08 September 2019, citing Brexit inaction.
Concerned that “80-90%” of the government’s efforts were going into preparing for no-deal rather than having “proper conversations about policy” Rudd stepped down from her role, surrendering the Conservative whip.
In her career, Rudd has spoken at educational institutions, workplaces and Job Centres, especially addressing the gender pay gap, how young people are being helped into the workplace, support for vulnerable people with special educational needs and support for people with flexible working hours. A dedicated and hardworking MP, Rudd has become something of a popular presence in the media in recent times, due to her honesty and caring values. A vibrant, engaged and insightful public servant ideal for discussing Brexit, as well as work & pensions, governance and all areas of the economy and politics.
Rudd is the experienced leader able to present information aimed at better informing associations, businesses and organisations. Able to detail how businesses and organisations can be affected by government policies, Brexit and other factors, there are few as high up and relevant in the political sphere as her.
Having spoken in front of the cabinet, in the House of Lords, as well as the nation on radio and television news broadcasts, Rudd has significant prior experience of public speaking. This, in addition to her natural charisma, and storytelling ability makes for excellent keynote presentations, popular with employees and executives at all levels.
