Qualifying as a hairdresser aged 18, Carol Walker embarked on a career that would lead to her becoming a leading authority in the field of trichology. After losing a significant amount of her vision in 2012, Carol has overcome the adversity of her disability to lead a fulfilled life and maintain her position as an expert in her canon. An ideal motivational speaker for any event in need of an inspirational character to lecture on achieving success no matter the odds, Carol will engage with guests and ensure they all fell part of her story.
After attracting the attention of UK courts to give evidence on a number of cases where her knowledge of trichology was vital, Carol soon became a well known figure in her field. Appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1994, Carol gave advice on the damage caused to hair thanks to chemicals used in hair salons.
Delivering tales of her career as an after dinner speaker, Carol is an intriguing presenter who can rely upon a host of interesting stories to tell to guests. Unfortunately, Carol lost a significant part of her vision in 2012, stopping her from examining patients for consultations and court reports. Walker however persevered, continuing to mentor for the Institute for Trichologists, give talks and feature in media work.
Since losing her vision, Carol has been given a guide dog named Flora. Flora has made a significant difference to Carol’s life, so much so that Carol has spoken and fundraised for Guide Dogs, promoting the cause and raising awareness in the process. Giving presentations to institutions such as the Women’s Institute, St John Ambulance and Mothers Union, Carol has large experience of talking as a motivational speaker in front of a diverse array of audiences.
