James May

Presenter of Amazon's 'The Grand Tour'

Co-presenter alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond of the international hit motoring show, TopGear, James May is easily one of the most recognisable motoring personalities in the world. Beginning his career in the motor industry as sub-editor for The Engineer  and Autocar, James soon began to make a name for himself before moving into the television world.

An ideal event host and TV Presenter, James’ witty and charming persona is sure to go down well with crowds at any event or production.

Joining BBC’s TopGear initially in 1999 before the show was axed, May formed part of the shows hugely popular format when it launched once again in 2003. Earning the nickname ‘Captain Slow’ due to his cautious driving style, May’s persona has become a long-standing joke on the show and is one of many examples of why the show has become so popular.

TopGear has led to May driving a Bugatti Veyron at 260mph, tackling Bolivia’s ‘Death Road’ as well as becoming one of the first people to travel to the North Pole by car. James’ abilities as a TV Presenter have secured a number of other television series and one-off documentaries including James May at the Edge of Space, where he became one of the highest flying persons in the world in a US Air Force Lockheed U-2, travelling at 70,000ft.

Some other of James’ feats include building a full sized house out of LEGO, replicating the Brooklands race track using Scalextric track alone and an attempt to create the longest model railway track in the world from Barnstaple to Bideford.

An experienced event host thanks to his time on tour with TopGear Live, James enjoys participating with crowds at events to ensure everyone feels involved in the action.
